Everything published in 2023: UPDATED DAILY
Before diving into what you can expect from me on this platform, here is a brief genesis story.
2011 A Writer’s Life For Me
In 2011 I started writing on Reddit about marriage, military life, family topics, etc.
I started commenting on people’s threads, eventually creating discussion topics of my own. In talking about life, I developed a following, and that’s when I found my voice.
In 2014 I separated from the Navy after 8 years on active duty, and in 2015 I created my blog, The Family Alpha, which branched out to Social Media, a YouTube channel, and a Podcast that has since cleared 100,000+ downloads.
Throughout all this time, my focus was on lifestyle while avoiding “trends”, current events (sans those which impacted my day-to-day life), and political news. The reason for this was that there were enough commentaries going on about what was happening in the news, and I wanted to avoid the gossip and focus on the family; what was happening in the home concerned me more than what was happening in the courthouses and White House.
The Tides Are Shifting
For a long time, I felt the need to be the champion for families, sobriety, fatherhood, and marriage, as the mainstream media does a great job at working to destroy each of those social institutions.
But that’s not how all of this began, and it’s that “return to roots” that The Daily Draft is all about.
I’ll write here every day until Feb 1, 2023.
The topics will be what I want to talk about, not what I feel I should talk about or what I think would help others, but my interests and perspectives on life’s events.
You can expect to find content on the following:
Beards
Family
Politics
Sobriety
Parenting
Philosophy
Youth Sports
Life Coaching
Breaking News
Military/Veteran Issues
You will find all of this and more within these archives and future content released.
It’s my hope to bring a “family man’s” perspective to this and not another political commentator’s viewpoint; I do not write under the pretense of being a journalist but rather as a citizen, husband, and father looking to be “in the know,” and it’s my aim to bring all of my friends and readers with me to be as informed as possible to make the best moves as we navigate through our ever-evolving society.
Enjoy the content, and be sure to leave any commentary if you feel it is warranted to either expand on a subject or challenge one of my ideas/assertations. For those who choose to become paying subscribers, thank you.
