Spring Reset: How to Build Your Q2 Game Plan with Discipline and Clarity
Stop coasting. Start leading. March is almost over, here’s how to reset, refocus, and dominate the second quarter of 2025.
Every year around this time, people fall into one of two categories:
Those who are waiting for summer to feel “motivated” again
Those who take the reins and draft a plan to win Q2
Be the second kind.
First Step: Audit Q1 Honestly
Before you set goals for the next 90 days, take 15 minutes to look backward.
What worked?
What didn’t?
What got dropped when life got loud?
Most people don’t do this, so they stay stuck.
According to a 2024 LinkedIn Global Workforce Survey, only 27% of professionals conduct a quarterly self-review…
The rest?
They’re just hoping “things get better.”
Here’s how to break that trend:
What were your top 3 wins in Q1?
What three habits did you intend to build but didn’t?
Where did most of your energy go?
Write it down.
Don’t skip this.
Next Step: Draft the Q2 Version of You
Forget who you used to be.
Start drafting who you’re going to be: The leader, the creator, the photographer, the athlete, the entrepreneur…
Whatever your lane is, you need a Q2 identity to anchor it.
“You don’t rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.” – James Clear
Ask Yourself:
What ONE thing do I want to be known for by June 30?
What are the three daily actions that will get me there?
What distractions must die so that focus can live?
This isn’t about building a 30-item checklist; it’s about choosing what matters most and cutting everything else.
Tools To Help You Lock-In
If you want to win, build systems, not hype.
Here are two tools I use and recommend to others:
Morning Review Template: What are you doing today to get closer to the mission? You should have it written down the night before; wake up knowing what you must do that day and be aware of what you must have done that week.
Weekly “Map Reading”: Have something that holds all of your ideas, goals, and needs; I use a whiteboard that lists the goals and boxes needing to be checked. My mind can be clear even during the busy weeks because I don’t have to remember everything; it’s all on the board.
A 2023 American Society of Training and Development study found that you’re 65% more likely to reach a goal if you commit in front of someone; that jumps to 95% with regular check-ins.
Accountability matters, and if you’re a busy man looking to find accountability from an online group of men doing the same, head over to the FRATERNITY OF EXCELLENCE and join the network that has transformed thousands of lives.
Spring Isn’t About Flowers; it’s About Growth.
Let everyone else wait for summer to “feel ready.” it’s time for you, my friend, to start the process of ensuring you have your best Summer now, as we enter Spring.
This week, draft up the game plan for a disciplined, locked-in, no-excuses Q2.
Let March 31st be your new January 1st.
