Reading is a universal language that can be enjoyed the world over.

In 2023, however, there is a wide variety of ways to enjoy books—from e-readers to audiobooks to physical books. While technology has allowed us to access books more conveniently, there are still numerous benefits to reading physical books.

This piece is less focused on the message and more on the medium.

How you read is as important as what you read; in the same way that free weights offer a different lifting experience which leads to overall improved performance than machine only - so does paperback compared to electronic only.

It’s not a situation where reading from an E-Reader is bad in the same way that using the nautilus machine is not “bad”; reading/lifting is good. But, if you’re looking to optimize the return, you may want to look into how you read. The aim is to be physically and mentally strong; physical is easy to understand, and mental requires you to consistently train the brain with heavy and light lifts of a different variety.

Never reading/owning physical books robs you of an element in the Art of Reading, which is what we’ll get into below.
