The Daily Draft Discussions Ep. 003: My Hormone, Nutrition, & Fitness Coach Phil Foster
Phil answered 5 Questions about building his fitness empire.
This is the third episode of The Daily Draft Discussions, a series where I interview friends and family, asking each 5 questions to gain insights from their unique perspectives in life.
Interview #003 with Phil Foster, Master Trainer, Hormone Specialist, and Nutritionist.
Zac: Big Phil, how are you doing, brother? Before I pick your brain, I'd like to set the stage for those who don't already know you - who is Phil Foster, what is PhilFosterFitness.com all about, and how has your week been?
Phil:
Zac,
I’m doing great, my friend; been busy swinging for the fences lately. As you know, I’ve been training for a Powerlifting Competition for the past year (which is something that’s completely out of my wheelhouse), and well… At the beginning of September, I banged myself up pretty good - I blew my SI Joint, and I blew a Disc out. I’ve been getting treatment, and my Doc expects me to make a full recovery.
A little about who I am…
I’m the crazy Uncle everyone has No, Really! As you know, I’m a man who is pro-men, and I speak on Red Pill topics, relationships, and how to navigate these crazy times. I’m a huge proponent of masculinity and the development of masculinity in all men.
I’m the guy in the room that will tell it to you straight, and I’m also the guy who listens when other men tell it to me straight.
I’m the father to a great daughter who never ceases to amaze me; she accomplishes whatever it is she sets her mind to. I’ve also been divorced, a single dad, and I’ve gotten remarried (more on that another time).
Lastly, I’m heavily into fitness; I love BodyBuilding and developing my physicality to Top-Tier levels, which have led to me obtaining my certification as a Master Trainer, creating PhilFosterFitness.com (Home to my supplement line with 9 products), developing a Training Application (always being updated with new programs and resources) for all of my online clients, I also offer hormone counseling, while running a Men’s Community for my clients.

Now, to the Interview…
Question #1
Zac: Phil, you run multiple successful businesses in Texas, having made a name for yourself in both Construction and Carpentry; what led to you making the decision to add a fitness brand offering Supplements, Hormones, Training, and Nutrition on top of all that you already have going on?
Phil:
I have a true passion for Fitness and BodyBuilding, working with people, and being a part of their fitness journey; these things are extremely fulfilling for me.
When I reached a certain point in the carpentry and construction businesses, I decided that fitness was something I could get behind and do. As you know, when I commit to something, I go all in.
I didn’t want to just offer training, I wanted to offer it all, and I wanted to bring that complete package to the entire world.
Question #2
Zac: What would you say to the person who is good at what they do and it makes them good money, but it's not providing a sense of "life satisfaction" or purpose?
Phil:
We have all been there, doing something to cover the bills and provide a life for ourselves; I would tell that person to figure out what it is which lights fire them and to follow that passion and build a road map or plan to get into it and from there - find a way to monetize.
When I started building my fitness brand (PFF), I had a two-year plan; I still have 7 months until those two years are up. I’m still working on it, and there have been many roadblocks and learning experiences along the way. My point is when you start and those obstacles/learning opportunities come, don’t get discouraged or quit because you’re tired or lose interest because it’s tough…
If money isn’t the issue, then finding your purpose is simple; you know what it is that will fulfill your soul, so stop being fearful and take it; go after what you want; just do the thing already!
Question #3
Zac: You're the father to a very talented and intelligent daughter whom I've had the pleasure of meeting; how do you balance the many business demands and client needs with your duties as a father?
Phil:
Being a father has been one of the most challenging things ever! The balance, though? It’s simple, I have a busy schedule, and my daughter has an extremely busy schedule as well. We do our best to spend some time together when we are both free; we also spend together every night before bed.
I check in on her and her life whenever I can.
She’s 18 now, works, goes to school, is a major gym-goer, and she has her social circle to keep up with. Now, when times get thin, I will go hang with her at work and spend some time with her and her friends here at the house (We have a policy that the front door is always open), so her friends like to hang out here which means that I can get more time in with her.
Now that she’s really growing up, I’ve begun the process of letting her go a little more, giving her the independence she needs. I’m always there to offer advice or course correction when needed. Raising girls in this day and age while being Red-Pilled is not for the weak, but I know that the insights I’m offering are heard and considered by her.
Question #4
Zac: Hormones are one of the ways your brand differentiates itself from others; why did you choose to include hormone monitoring and supplementation when so many others don't?
Phil:
Hormones are the key to literally everything regarding being a human.
When it comes to fitness and health, hormones that are out of whack or imbalanced can cause many issues for people. I’ve seen hormonally imbalanced individuals turn their lives around once their levels were straightened out - me being one of those people.
I’ve been on hormone replacement therapy for 9 years, and I couldn’t imagine not being optimized.
Yes, there are detractors and naysayers that believe it’s cheating or not natural, but nothing in our life or environment is “natural” anymore.
Question #5
Zac: What inspired your training method, and how does it separate itself from the many out there?
Phil:
My training methods are tough - period, and I say that with unbiased honesty.
My programming isn’t the “Lazy Man’s Training system” at all. I focus on the big lifts, avoiding too much BS isolation or “Club Pump” moves.
I’m a firm believer in cardio; I always have been, well before everyone else was saying you don’t need it in your programming. My training methods teach you a lot about yourself and what you are capable of; week after week, when you stick with it, you get stronger. And it’s not only physical strength being developed; you also get mentally stronger in the process.
Along with custom programming, I prescribe a nutrition strategy that aligns with your goals, and this is in combination with my being available to you anytime within the community - the results will come.

BONUS QUESTION: What would you say to the person who wants to get started with PhilFosterFitness.com, but they're too intimidated because they're a beginner and don't know what they're doing and are too embarrassed to publicly admit that?
Phil:
If you’re a beginner and worry that you won’t be able to hang or do the exercises assigned, let me put your mind at ease.
I design your programming based on skill and experience; then, it’s all loaded in the app for you. I cover your sets and reps while providing 4k video examples of how to perform every exercise listed - you’ll be comfortable with the exercises and smash your goals in no time.
I’m a very hands-on trainer, so we can communicate as much as you need until your confidence is up and you are rolling along. My end goal is for you to succeed and make all of the changes both in the mirror and in your life that you want.
Zac - Phil, thank you for your time and for being a part of the Friday Family & Friends Series.
