Same Mind, New Doors Opened

There’s a timeline where I never started writing.

There’s a timeline where you’d have never heard my name associated with The Family Alpha or Fraternity of Excellence.

This is because there was a moment, many years ago, when I had a choice: I could have dropped the hobby of writing and committed to photography, or I could have gone all in on the writing to become an author, blogger, and overall wordsmith.

I chose writing; in no way did that mean I loved photography any less.

I chose my path, and I’ve committed myself to the written word; having published a book, run a blog with over a million views, and written tens of millions of words over the years, and to this day, at this moment, I am continuing to share the thoughts, perspectives, and magic of writing here with these black squiggly lines you see on this screen, the ones telling you my story and letting you inside my mind, heart, and soul.

I find it relevant to share that I was never a good student; I didn’t write novels as a kid, I was a hell of a reader, but then I realized I hated school and being told what to read, so that was when the books went to the wayside as well.

So how did I find myself creating content in 2023, making money with my writing, and using words to connect with individuals who’ve elevated my life to heights greater than I could have ever imagined attaining?

Full Transparency: I don’t have a fucking clue; I followed my heart where it led me, and it led me to this art. I’ve always trusted my gut and chosen the path of truth over logic; if my heart says write, I write just the way as when it says, walk away from a stellar Naval career to be home with your family - I do it.

My heart is saying lean in on the photography; there may be something here, so I’m doing it.
